The 2011 Festival Contests

Garlic Cook-Off

Send your stinkin' garlic recipes (ASAP) to Rebec Garlic Cook-off, 2229 North Amherst Hwy, Amherst, Va 24521, or email. Deadline is October 1st!

Then what? All entries will be tested by our stinkin' judges. The top five will be invited to appear live and in person at our cook-off finals on Saturday.  Recipes must contain FRESH GARLIC, not as a 'spice', but as a garlic dominated dish! Unlike the stiff formality of the rest of the Garlic Festival, our cook-off is an informal free-for-all where garlic, wine, and anything edible is encouraged.

Saturday; Winery Stage, 10:10am

No ovens or refrigeration is provided. Cooking is done on small appliances, which must be supplied by contestants.

How about prizes? It always seems to come down to money, doesn't it?  Well, our prizes will be $150 for first place, with the second and third place chefs capturing $100 and $50 respectively.

And any contestants gets to enjoy the festivities like no other!
